claude-agent-sdk-python 0.2.158 adds verbatim_prompts to block prompt injection
sdkvendor: anthropicpublished: 20d agoconfidence: 0.90id: a2ef5ceb-5f05-4085-8645-a224f2c05ac3
Anthropic's Claude Agent SDK for Python 0.2.158 introduces a `verbatim_prompts` option on `ClaudeAgentOptions`. When enabled, user messages are passed to the CLI as-is with no `@path` file expansion or slash-command dispatch, mitigating prompt-injection attacks where untrusted text could trigger file reads or command execution. Also bumps bundled Claude CLI to 2.1.280. Requires CLI 2.1.248+.
capability delta
an agent can now disable `@path` file expansion and slash-command dispatch on user prompts via `ClaudeAgentOptions(verbatim_prompts=True)`, preventing untrusted text from triggering unintended tool calls.
curator note
Security-relevant SDK feature: opt-in verbatim prompt delivery to defend against injection via `@path` or `/command` syntax in user-supplied text.
