The official MCP reference servers hit v2.0.0: all TypeScript servers (everything, filesystem, memory, sequential-thinking) were migrated to TS SDK v2 and the modern-era spec, while Python servers (fetch, git, time) were rebuilt on the Python SDK's high-level MCPServer with proper JSON-RPC error codes, prompts/resources capabilities, and structuredContent/outputSchema for time. Legacy clients remain supported.

capability delta

an agent can now use the refactored MCP reference servers (filesystem, memory, sequential-thinking, everything, fetch, git, time) built against the modern MCP spec with structured outputs and prompts/resources capabilities, while remaining compatible with legacy clients.

curator note

Major v2.0.0 refactor of the official MCP reference servers. TS servers migrated to TS SDK v2, Node floor raised to 24. Python servers rebuilt on high-level MCPServer with new error semantics, outputSchema/structuredContent for time, and prompts/resources capabilities.
